2. Technical delivery and hosting
When you request this website, the hosting service processes connection and usage data, particularly IP address, time, requested files, browser and device information and, where applicable, the referring page. This supports delivery, stability and security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website.
We use OpenAI’s ChatGPT Sites. As an EEA operator, our contracting party is OpenAI Ireland Ltd., Ireland. Processing on our behalf is governed by the Sites data processing addendum or the DPA applicable to the account used. Subprocessors are listed in OpenAI’s register. Domain management and any redirects at IONOS are separate from delivery of this website through Sites.
Technical processing may occur outside the EEA; Sites does not guarantee storage in one particular country. For relevant transfers, the agreement provides for EU standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. Further information and contractual safeguards are available through the links and on request from us.
3. Hosting service usage statistics
Sites automatically provides statistics about page views and visitor numbers. This platform function is separate from the NexoWatt storage choices described below and is not disabled by those choices. We have not added our own analytics or advertising services such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. The function is described in the Sites documentation.
The public documentation does not fully specify the retention periods or technical collection methods for these platform statistics. Please contact us with questions about processing or your privacy rights; we coordinate such requests with the hosting provider. Rejecting optional language storage does not mean that technical connection data or platform statistics will not be processed.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Our website code uses Local Storage in your browser for the settings below. This storage is not automatically transmitted with every HTTP request. Rules on storing information on your device also apply to this technology.
- nexowatt-privacy-v1: after you make a choice, stores the notice version, choice method (accept, reject, custom choice or withdrawal), time, validity and your acceptance or rejection of optional language storage for 180 days. This is used to honour your decision (section 25(2)(2) German TDDDG; where personal data is involved, Article 6(1)(c) together with Article 7 GDPR).
- nexowatt-language-v1: stores your language (de, nl or en) only with your express consent. Legal bases: section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Valid no longer than your choice, for up to 180 days.
Optional storage stays disabled without consent. Choosing “Reject all optional” lets you continue using the site. You can change or withdraw permission at any time using . After giving permission, you can also use “Withdraw language storage consent” at the bottom of the page. On withdrawal, our code removes the saved language and stores your rejection. If the browser prevents saving or deletion, we show an error and disable optional storage on the open page. In that case, you can remove older entries by clearing website data in your browser. Expired entries are removed when our code next runs, including when an open page becomes active again. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can also delete entries in your browser. Blocking browser storage does not prevent use of the website.
Technical access and security functions of the hosting service may use their own cookies or similar technologies. These are not set or controlled by our website code. If a restricted area requires a platform login, the provider’s privacy information also applies.
5. Contacting us
We process the business, contact, message and project details you supply to handle your enquiry. Where you are personally the potential contracting party, contract-related enquiries rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. We process details of business contact persons and other enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in handling the enquiry and business communication. Required information is limited to what the enquiry needs.
The contact form prepares an email locally in your browser. It does not send your entries to a form server or save them in a website database. Only when you send the email yourself is the message transmitted to us through your email provider. You may also contact us directly by email or telephone.
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to handle them and any resulting contract. We then delete them unless statutory retention duties or the need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims require continued retention. Use is then restricted to those purposes. Recipients may include communications providers and, where specific legal obligations apply, competent authorities or advisers.
6. Local content and external links
Search and filtering run in your browser. Our code does not send search terms to an external search service. Images, flags, stylesheets, scripts and documentation files are delivered from this website. No external fonts, maps, social widgets, payment services or external video players are embedded. External links load the destination only when selected; that operator’s privacy information then applies.
7. Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and withdrawal of consent. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation, and to direct marketing at any time. Contact: info@nexowatt.com.
You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly in your country of residence, workplace or the location of a suspected infringement. The authority for North Rhine-Westphalia is LDI NRW.
Our website functions do not provide automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects or associated profiling. You do not need to give us contact details simply to visit; a personal reply requires a suitable way to contact you.
